One thing that really irks me about recent prospective college students is that so many people have the mentality that they will have the same career or job for the rest of their life. Like how they emphasize what their major is going to revolve around them for the rest of their lives. It’s funny because you’re not going to be in the field you study forever (unless you’re in the medical field which is probably one of the only exceptions). Life happens; you’re gonna move around, probably start a family, you’ll get bored of your 9-5 and want to see the world, blah blah blah. I don’t get why people stress over choosing a major. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t choose the right one..

One past event that really sparked this ideal into my head was an incident last year at a park. My cousin and I were playing on the playground (mind you she was 19 and I was 18, grown ass kids playing on some toddler shit) and what seems to be a grandmother and granddaughter were playing together at the same playground

this reminds me of my spanish teacher junior year in high school. She didn’t teach. She didn’t engage us. All she gave us were packets and worksheets and textbook pages to read from. Our class never cared. this guy said the words that should’ve come out of my mouth.
